An often overlooked area of SOLIDWORKS PDM is the File Type options found in the admin tool. These options allow you to control how duplicate files are handled in your vault. Settings Permissions tends to be one of the more confusing tasks for a PDM Administrator due to the different types of permissions that can overlap and intersect with each other. 1) It is recommended to use dedicated task hosts with a minimum of RAM 3 GB for x32 OS (RAM 4 GB and more for x64 OS) and be able to open the drawings and files that are converted.
